Remarks - Nice day very light winds starting off building by the end of the day to 20 + knots! Anchored off beach at Seaside Park and went swimming, ate lunch, and watched sail boat races. Sailed North until RT 37 and went West along RT 37 bridge and followed across to Tom's River. Very busy area. Almost had a collision with power boat that was not watching where he was going. I think he had a kid at the wheel and took it from the kid just before collision. Missed us by maybe 2 ft. On way back the wind was blowing strong from the south, south west and we had to tack all the way back. Reached speeds in tack around 5 - 6 knots! When got back to the bay by Trixies, the Admiral did not slack off on starboard jib sheet all the way causing the boat to come about sharply broadside to the wind. Boat healed over quickly and Seaman Hank Foster went overboard! He was quickly saved fortunately! Seaman Carol Foster made us, through her unseasoned training, perform numerous maneuvering drills to recover equipment that fell overboard! All boat systems worked fine. Sailed in a lot of swallow water for long periods of time. Kept rudder untied down and some times tied it up out of the water for very swallow areas. Was able to maneuver very well as long as the winds were around 10 knots or less.
