Remarks - Weather started with very light winds. We had to motor sail to Island Beach where we swam and had lunch. Crossed over to the west side of Barnegat Bay after lunch and cruised north to Tom's River. We found a restaurant North of Trixie's about 4 miles that we will have to try sometime. Weather looked like it was getting bad to west and decided to return to Trixies. Power sailed back to Trixies at 6 - 9 knots and got about 1/2 mile away and the storm let loose. We were unable get into Trixies because of high winds and low visibility. Dropped sails and powered slowly into the wind. Wind was greater than 30 knots and the rain was coming down so hard that we could not see more than 100 ft. Swells were about 2-3ft at times. Storm lasted about 20 minutes. Boat held up very well and remained stable and controllable throughout. Rode storm extremely well.I was very pleased. Returned to Trixies and docked with no problems. All systems functioned above and beyond. One other boat was demasted in the area. Another was missing in the area both due to the storm. I kept us in 2-4 water that if anything did happen we would just walked ashore. Crew did outstanding job!
